Microneedling

Microneedling improves skin texture and tone, reduces the appearance of scars (including acne scars), fine lines, and large pores.

"Microneedling has been shown to significantly boost collagen production and improve skin texture and elasticity, offering long-lasting results. In contrast, Botox typically requires repeated treatments every 3-4 months to maintain its effects." *

New to Microneedling ?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive procedure that offers remarkable benefits for anti-aging and skin rejuvenation. This special technique involves using an oscillating pen with fine needles to create micro-injuries on the skin's surface, stimulating the body's natural healing process and boosting collagen and elastin production.

When it comes to anti-aging, microneedling offers a natural and healthier alternative to Botox. While Botox neurotoxin paralyzes muscles to smooth wrinkles temporarily, microneedling improves skin texture and tone, reduces the appearance of scars (including acne scars), fine lines, and large pores, without the risk of muscle atrophy or the "frozen" appearance sometimes associated with Botox.  Microneedling also enhances the absorption of topical skincare products.

Unlike more invasive treatments, microneedling harnesses your body's inherent regenerative capabilities, promoting lasting and noticeable improvements without extensive downtime. The result is smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin, making micro-needling a preferred choice for those seeking a natural and effective solution for various skin concerns.

One of the standout advantages is its versatility. Micro-needling effectively addresses acne scars by breaking down old scar tissue and encouraging the formation of new, healthy skin. For individuals experiencing hair thinning or loss, micro-needling can stimulate hair follicles and improve blood flow to the scalp, promoting hair growth and density. Furthermore, micro-needling can significantly reduce the appearance of body scars, including stretch marks and surgical scars, by enhancing skin texture and tone.

Before Care Instructions

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for a few days before the procedure. Sunburned or tanned skin can increase the risk of complications.
  • Stop Using Certain Products: Discontinue the use of retinoids, exfoliants, and other aggressive skin treatments (such as chemical peels) 3-5 days before the procedure. These can make your skin more sensitive.
  • Hydrate: Ensure your skin is well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using a good moisturizer.
  • Clean Skin: Arrive at the appointment with a clean face. Avoid applying makeup, lotions, or other skincare products on the day of the procedure.

After Care Instructions

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Continue to avoid direct sun exposure for about a week after the procedure. Wear a hat and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher when you go outside.
  • No Makeup: Avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours post-procedure to reduce the risk of infection and irritation.
  • Gentle Skincare: Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer for the first few days. Avoid products containing alcohol, retinoids, or exfoliating agents until the skin has healed (usually about a week).
  • Hydrate and Nourish: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and help your skin heal. You can also use a hydrating serum recommended by your practitioner.
  • Avoid Sweating: Refrain from intense exercise, saunas, and hot baths for at least 24-48 hours, as sweating can irritate the skin and increase the risk of infection.
  • No Picking or Scrubbing: Do not pick at or scrub the treated area. Let any peeling or flaking skin fall off naturally.
  • Follow-Up Appointments: Attend any follow-up appointments scheduled by your practitioner to monitor your progress and address any concerns.
  • Be Patient: Understand that the healing process varies from person to person. It may take several days to a week for the initial redness and swelling to subside and up to several weeks to see the full benefits.

What to Expect + Common, But Mild Side Effects

  • Redness and Swelling: Generally, the redness and/or swelling from treatment dissipates in a few hours, but it's not uncommon to experience redness and swelling similar to a sunburn for a few days after the procedure.
  • Sensitivity: Your skin may feel sensitive or tight for a few days
  • Minor Bruising: Some minor bruising can occur, especially around the treated areas.
