Klara Brown (maiden name, Kadar) is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist, board certified herbalist, and a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine as certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Klara graduated from the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, where she earned a Master's of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine.
Klara continued her studies in Beijing, China where she holds a certificate of training from the Beijing Traditional Medicine Training Center of WFAS. As part of her clinical training in New York, Klara worked with Claudia Citkovitz at the Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she utilized her experience as a labor doula, providing acupuncture to women during childbirth for pain relief and research into improved labor outcomes. Klara has also worked alongside distinguished practitioners of infertility acupuncture in NYC, such Jill Blakeway and Mike Berkley, where she cultivated her own skill set and passion for working with couples trying to conceive. Formerly a Senior Acupuncturist of the Yinova Center, Klara is currently in private practice at the lovely City Wellness Collective on 26th Street.
Klara has honed her practice in women’s health, fertility, and emotional wellness from over a decade of experience as an acupuncturist, and former massage therapist and doula. As an advocate of whole and traditional foods, Klara works with her patients to encourage and develop healthy lifestyle habits that include dietary goals, appropriate supplements, and regular exercise. Fertility and pregnancy support is a particularly dynamic and awing phase of life that Klara is zealous in working with her patients, as acupuncture offers tremendous benefits for improved fertility health and pregnancy outcomes for both mother and child.
As a former pre-med student, Klara’s interest in both western and eastern medicine has been constant. She obtained a Bachelors in Psychology in 2002 and soon after began working with children for several years, before moving on to the spa and wellness industry, towards the present in women's health and integrative support.
